New York Times provides best analysis of historic context of the Rios Montt trial

In Guatemala, we sometimes get very discouraged by the superficial – often inaccurate- reports of the international main stream media when relevant news is published about Guatemala. The New York Times, after having reported on the trial of Ríos Montt in a main stream media manner did something unexpected. After the sentence had been passed (that now has been suspended), The New York Times asked: What Guilt Does the U.S. Bear in Guatemala?
